Loyalists of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State have proposed the appointment of Taofeek Arapaja as acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Naija News reports that Atiku and Wike, alongside some governors, had been at loggerheads since May 2022, when Atiku emerged as the presidential candidate of the PDP. The spokesperson for the Labour Party Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of stashing away taxpayers’ money for election. Tanko was reacting to a statement made by the Chief Spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo (SAN), that the ruling party wasn’t running its campaign with stolen funds.
